Iowa City Intergroup Meeting Minutes

Brian chaired the meeting.

Treasurer’s Report:

Submitted by Ed M. Balance of $242.55. Phone bill of $101.25 due on December 12. Received a donation from the Saturday Noon Wild Bill’s Group. Ed inquired about keeping the P.O. Box. It was decided to keep it.

Old Business:

· Barb is not able to change the District schedule. Tim will take care of removing the incorrect Wednesday 6:00 p.m. listing for Blue Noon and will also work on the schedule to accommodate Barb making changes.

· The question was raised concerning how schedules are distributed. Anyone may print the schedule off the Intergroup website (http.//www.aa-ic.org); GSRs are to bring printed schedules to the meetings; and Melrose has a supply. Tim suggested the literature person for each group could assume responsibility.

· Tim asked about Intergroup’s prudent reserve. It should equal three months’ expenses, but a dollar amount had not been determined. Expenses are as follows: phone $101.25 per month, beeper $22 quarterly, Website $5 per month, and the Post Office box $36 per six months. Tim made a motion to set the prudent reserve at $350. Motion carried.

· Monday Night Common Solution Group has had the beeper. Thursday Night Big Book Group will take it for December. Brian will give it to Jerry.

· $59.70 is owed to Erin B. for this year’s website, which is paid through September. Motion carried to pay Erin.

· New Year’s Eve Party:

· A sign-up for volunteers was circulated—set up and decorate, meet and greet, drinks and tables, and clean up.

· Kelly will order the food--$100 budget

· Jerry will be in charge of decorations; Kelly and Annie will help

· Jacki will ask her daughter and friend to baby sit

· Pete will get the drinks

· Annie will do nametags

· Jerry will chair the meeting and introduce the speakers

· Annie will call Steve to confirm the sound system

· Annie currently has about 100 songs, or six to seven hours of music

· Decided we do not need to meet again before the party

New Business:

· Tim reminded the group that current Intergroup positions were to end in December 2006 and elections need to be held. Since this had been overlooked and we need time to communicate to the groups about an upcoming election, it was voted to hold elections in February on an annual basis. Jacki volunteered to make a flyer to distribute to all the groups.

The meeting adjourned at 11:25 a.m.
