TreasurerŐs Report:

Submitted by Ed M.  Received donations of $100 from Saturday Noon Wild BillŐs Group and $75 from the Midwest Group.  Balance of $213 after New YearŐs Eve party, phone, and pager expenses were paid.

 Old Business:

á     Bryan took the beeper and will take to the Friday MenŐs Group for January.

á     Annie volunteered to call everyone on the 12th Step Call List to verify current information and willingness to volunteer.

á     Read the Beeper/Phone Guidelines and discussed adapting it to provide guidelines for 12th Step calls.

á     Barb suggested trainingŃa panel of AAs with 12th Step experience.

á     Jerry suggested having a brief informational thing at the Banquet/Auction if it is held.

á     Margaret will produce a 12th Step volunteer sign-up form and distribute.  Reps will pass the sign-up at each meeting.

á     Encourage groups to have reps at the February elections.

á     New YearŐs Party was a success.  Great turnout and enjoyed by all.  Thanks to all who helped make it happen.

New Business:

á      Motion was passed to make commitment to host a New YearŐs party every year.

á      Ed will prepare a formal audit of expenses and income relating to the New YearŐs event.

á      Discussed whether to hold the Banquet/Auction in May.  Tabled for further discussion.

á      Jerry is looking into having an Intergroup office at Melrose.  He assumes Melrose will approve it and the rent will be inexpensive.  Discussion followed on whether Intergroup really has need for an office or if a storage space for the archives will suffice.  At this time there is not enough activity and support to warrant more than a storage space, although if there is a resurgence of volunteers it could be viable in the future.  Concern was expressed whether there would be confusion about the association with Melrose, especially since Intergroup represents all groups.

á      Flyers and mail that would have previously been distributed in the group mailboxes should be given to Barb to scan onto the website.

á      Tim reminded the group that historically Intergroup used events such as New YearŐs and the Auction as fund raisers.  Intergroup decided to be self sufficient.  The intent this year was not to use New YearŐs Eve to make money, and itŐs important to not think in terms of fundraisers.

á      Barb said there is confusion over Intergroup and what it does.  Groups are not sure what the reason is to donate.

á      We need to educate the groups on what Intergroup provides and why we need it.

á      Margaret will write up a statement of what Intergroup does and distribute to the group.

á      Annie inquired about having an answering service rather than a recording.  Tim gave her the information Patrick had put together last year.

The meeting adjourned at 11:40.m.

Respectfully submitted by Susan H.
